Underwater earthquakes are the most common causes for Tsunamis. Contrary to the popular beliefs, Tsunami is not a single wave, but it is a series of long waves rippling out from the epicenter of the quake.
The height of the Tsunami waves cannot be predicted, as they can gain more height even in the shallow waters.
